Let's Talk

For Paula Tucker, CEO of Boysville, Inc., business relationships rooted in service are key to her organization’s continued success. For over 75 years, Boysville has worked to break the cycle of abuse and neglect in families while preparing children for adulthood by helping boys and girls become responsible adults. Paula has led the organization for nearly a decade, and she’s more than hopeful about the future.

Alongside Paula is her insurance provider and trusted friend, Katy Brooks, who leads the Property & Casualty division at The Bank of San Antonio Insurance Group. Katy joined The Bank of San Antonio in 2012 to help grow The Bank of San Antonio Insurance Group. This was when Katy met Paula, and so began their story of a nurturing business partnership that Paula likes to call, “a familyship.”

“Working with Katy and The Bank of San Antonio Insurance Group is very valuable to us because we spend so much time trying to figure out how to service our children, and the last thing I need to do is try to figure out insurance myself. I have been blessed to be able to call Katy and say, 'Hey, we don't really know about this, but can you tell us more?' She's been a partner in service…actually, more like family.”

Throughout the years of partnership between The Bank of San Antonio Insurance Group and Boysville, Katy has custom-designed insurance plans tailored specifically for nonprofit organizations. Beyond that, she architected the coverage plans that fit the precise needs of Boysville as they have grown.

One of the perks of working with Katy and The Bank of San Antonio Insurance Group that Paula most enjoys is the accessibility and the frequent counsel her team is provided when they have questions about policies. “They have not missed a beat,” says Paula, when referring to the attentiveness of Katy and her team while tending to Boysville’s recent policy changes.

Policies and procedures aside, Katy and her team support Paula and the children she serves in ways that extend far beyond day-to-day business. Katy is proud to team up with Paula every holiday season and delivers gifts to the Boysville children after their annual Christmas pageant. “I love to do the shopping,” says Katy, who even coordinated a gift-giving effort at the bank during the pandemic last year. “These kids had to have their Christmas gifts.”

When looking toward the future, as businesses begin to plan for a slightly different world post-COVID, Paula urges fellow business leaders to look for an agency such as The Bank of San Antonio Insurance Group that is trustworthy and carries the brunt of the load when it comes to financial solutions such as insurance policies. Paula adds, “Look for organizations that help you do the very best you can do for those you serve."
